Be A Light Marketplace: December 13 & 14

The Be A Light Marketplace is a Good Samaritan Ministries program which serves registered under resourced parents and guardians with the opportunity to “shop” and select Christmas gifts for their children. Our desire is to partner with parents/guardians and empower them to become part of the process of providing Christmas gifts for their families.

A pop-up store with Christmas toys, toiletries, games, etc. will be set up in December  at Good Samaritan Ministries to allow parents to shop for their children. Parents will not have to pay for the items they choose but we encourage them to volunteer so they can given the dignity and worth to feel like they contributed.  To collect items for the program, click here for suggested items.

Good Samaritan additionally provides  food boxes so that each family we serve may have a wonderful and satisfying holiday meal together. We also deliver fully prepared meals to the elderly, shut-ins and the disabled.

This ministry opportunity will provide many volunteer opportunities for the community and churches for the event and prior which include

  • Set-up and Tear down team
  • Decorations team
  • Welcome Team
  • Wrapping Station
  • Logistics and Coordination Team
  • Personal shopper assistants
