PSALM 91 Campaign- Our response to COVID-19

Local resources available here

“If you say, ‘The LORD is my refuge,’ and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.”

We are in a time that is unprecedented. COVID-19 has changed our everyday lives. It has isolated us, brought fear and uncertainty to us, and altered the way we go through our day. With uncertainty and fear often comes hopelessness. You might be feeling overwhelmed with the constant change or you might be fearful of the virus. You might be starting to feel lonely in isolation. We have all felt and seen the effect that COVID-19 is having on the world and our community.

We have seen and felt the devastation of this virus, but we have also seen and felt the joy and hope as the community comes together to be the light of God’s love. Psalm 91 is God’s promise that when we have faith and make the Lord our dwelling, no harm can overtake us. This is a call to FAITH. But, this Psalm also calls us to ACTION. Our faith will allow us to “trample the great lion and the serpent.” Darkness will not overtake us if we allow our faith to motivate us to action!

So how do we take action when our lives are so altered? How do we connect with our community while we are separated? How can we best help one another responsibly?

If you are looking for a way to stay connected and to help those who are vulnerable during these difficult times, consider partnering with Good Samaritan Ministries to help us combat poverty and change lives in the Upper East Tennessee region. Let us ACT on our FAITH together to provide meals and services to children and their families who rely on school meals as well as seniors who are living on a fixed and limited income and are quarantined during this time. We have altered our services with the safety of our neighbors, staff, and volunteers as our highest priority. In order to continue serving the most vulnerable during this time, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
